Democracy in America
This is a two part essay. Both parts use Alexis de Tocqueville's
"Democracy in America." The first part needs to be a two page short
essay answering the question "For Tocqueville, why is virtue so
important for the stability of democracy?" Use citations and examples
from Tocqueville's "Democracy in America." The second part needs to be
four pages answering the question "Do modern Americans place greater
value on liberty or equality?" Use both Tocqueville and contemporary
examples to explain your answer. The main source to be used is
Tocqueville's "Democracy in America" for both questions. For the second
question use Examples from Tocqueville's "Democracy in America" as well
as contemporary examples. Each questions is to be answered separately
and contain its own thesis, body, conclusion, etc...
