How did the role of women and ethnic minorities in the arts
begin to change in the 20th century? Do you think the arts are more
diverse today than they were 50 years ago, or even 25 years ago?
Why or why not? What events occurred in the 20th century that
initiated acceptance of artists from more diverse backgrounds? Was
the art community ahead of or behind the rest of society in
embracing diversity? Why?
