philosophical thinking changed through the major periods of historical
development in Western culture. Which do you believe has been more
productive for human society—times of comfortable accommodation or times
of critical tension? How have religion and philosophy helped to shape
aesthetic expression through the ages? What influence to they have on
our lives today?
