The movie Jaws

 What are they competing over? Why does Brody not show the appendix scar he reveals? In ¶14 of the “Scars” essay, the author writes, “It’s not that I’m proud of my scars.” Do you think he’s truthful with himself here? If you didn't know author is a guy (and all mention of “boy” is gone), would you still think essay is written by a man? Why? How do scars à masculinity? How might this essay be different from a diff point of view? What else might scars represent? Post your response (around 100 words)
