My topic is adoption. based on that you have to do these
activities. Activity One: Persuasive Audience Analysis Activity
(Chapter 16)
For your next speech, create an audience analysis for your persuasive speech, using all three kinds of questions explained in the text: fixed-alternative questions, scale questions, and open-ended questions as a way of creating an audience analysis. You need to write at least 15 questions. Then, write an analysis explaining what you think the questionnaire will reveal about your audience and what steps you must take to adapt your speech to the audience. Keep a copy for in class because we will discuss. If not prepared, you can lose participation points.
Activity Two: Persuasive Activity (Chapter 16)
Choose a topic for a persuasive speech on a question of policy. Create two specific purpose statements about that topic: one for a speech to gain passive agreement, another for a speech to motivate immediate action. Once you have the specific purpose statements, explain how the speech seeking immediate action would differ in structure and persuasive appeals from the speech seeking passive agreement. Be specific. Use the verbiage introduced in the chapter. Activity Three: Methods of Persuasion Activity (Chapter 16)
Choose a television commercial that is organized according to Monroe’s motivated sequence. Outline a brief analysis: 1) identifying the target audience for the commercial; and, 2) describing each step in the motivated sequence as it appears in the commercial. Use the verbiage introduced in the chapter. Complete a critical analysis reflecting on Monroe’s five motivated sequences. List these individually.
